FRASER/ELLIS WRITING CONTEST 2006-2007

A new writing contest was announced at the QCI Arts Council AGM.  The challenge this time is to write a vignette (a snapshot) of life on the islands:  funny or tragic, current or historic.  It is your story, and it must be true. One entry per person, 500-2000 words in English.  Prize:  $500.00, will be distributed according to an off-island judge’s decision, which is final, and which will be based upon quality of the entries.  Entries must be typed, and include a covering page with title, your name, phone, and address.  There should be no identifying information on the pages of your story.  Deadline was April 1st, 2007.  Mail to QCI Arts Council, Box 35, Queen Charlotte, B.C., V0T 1S0.

Entries have been received.  It was determined that the majority of the entries did not reflect the intent of this contest writing; that is, very few vignettes were received.  The decision was made to rerun the contest.
